On September 8th, in Cannes, France, Elektrownia Powiśle received main award in the MIPIM Awards 2021! It is the most prestigious global competition that brings together all participants of the real estate market - investors, developers, architects, construction companies, consulting agencies, banks and law firms. The investment carried out by Tristan Capital Partners and White Star Real Estate won in the "Best Mixed-Use Development" category.
Elektrownia Powiśle in Warsaw is the adaptation of the historic industrial complex to the retail, cultural, service, office and residential - and soon also hotel - functions. The historically fenced area has been incorporated into the urban fabric since it was reopened. Over 100-year-old buildings were revitalized in close cooperation with the heritage conservator in order to maintain their original structures and façades by performing meticulous conservation and repair works, and replacing missing elements.
The new buildings are inscribed between historic, post-industrial halls, creating open to everyone, vibrant city squares - filled with restaurant tables, carefully selected elements of small architecture, and greenery. From spring 2020, it is one of the most visited places by Warsaw residents and tourists. Elektrownia Powiśle was designed by APA Wojciechowski Architects in cooperation with Belotto Design (interior design of Beauty Hall) and vsf-creative (interior design of Food Hall and The Market event space).
Elektrownia Powiśle
“The revitalization process of Elektrownia Powiśle is a unique project for us, so we are happy that it was noticed and awarded in such a prestigious competition. The Elektrownia Powiśle is not just another shopping mall, but a multifunctional, industrial space that combines commercial, gastronomic, event, office, hotel and residential functions. Both us and the architects were very keen to give Varsovians a piece of Powiśle, which preserves the unique atmosphere and historical character of the place. It is primarily an award for the entire team who’ve worked for many years for the final effect. "- Dariusz Domański, Partner at White Star Real Estate.
“Elektrownia Powisle is a prime example of regeneration and placemaking at its best, where history and innovation work seamlessly together creating a sustainable environment for tenants, visitors and the wider community. We are happy to have had an opportunity to create a new city icon together with our partners. It has already become one of Warsaw’s favourite places and we are delighted to receive the industry recognition through this award.” - Victoria Yakubenko, Tristan Capital Partners.
"We are honored with the international distinction received by Elektrownia Powiśle. Together with Tristan Capital Partners and White Star Real Estate, we have created a lively place that- with respect to the historical heritage - has become a permanent part of the area. Timeless architecture, well-thought-out combination of functions, great location and good commercial foundations make this project an ideal place for doing business, spending free time, shopping and living. It is also an extremely popular attraction for tourists from Poland and abroad visiting Warsaw.”- Szymon Wojciechowski, President of the Management Board, Co-Owner, Architect-Partner at APA Wojciechowski Architects.
